Learn the basics of mosaic while creating your own stunning project & participate in building facade pieces for Juneau Makerspace. The five sessions of instruction will begin November 21st through December 26th (skipping Thanksgiving.) Learn the basics of mosaics, for both indoor and outdoor applications, exercise your creative thought & assemble your own piece to take home and enjoy! No mosaic experience necessary — students of all levels are welcome. Topics included in this beginning class are discussions on different types of mosaic art, use of mosaic tools, simple & effective mosaic design, mosaic setting, grouting & finishing. This class will also include additional lessons in which we will be creating outdoor applique pieces to spruce up the Juneau Makerspace, addressing permanent & community based applications. Come join us for this experiential learning experience & help beautify our surroundings!

About the instructor: Rachael Juzeler is an accomplished artist working in glass, found art assemblages & reconstructed works. Focusing on ceramics in college she has dabbled in numerous mediums, most recently taking up mosaic work. To hone her skills she sought instruction in the South of France & is ready to share her newly learned knowledge with the artistic community of Juneau!
