There’s a lot of ways to get involved with the Makerspace this week. From fun events to exciting projects, there’s something for everyone. This week at our Monday Open Studio Night, from 6 to 8 pm, we are having a demo on using our 3D printer. Come learn everything you need to know about how to go from digital file to tangible object with just a few clicks. Next week we are having a basic safety lecture on using a woodshop.
We’ve received several calls for artists in the past week, and here are a few ways you can get involved:
A new Makerspace in Texas has asked us to do a gift exchange. They are looking for something from other Makerspaces that represent their regions. We are looking for a volunteer to create something to represent Southeast Alaska to send to them.
The Juneau Airport is looking for artists to submit proposals for installations for the renovated Regional Air Carrier terminal.
The Juneau Breastfeeding Alliance is looking for submissions of artwork by Alaskans conceptualizing breastfeeding for a juried First Friday showing at Busin’ Out Boutique in April.
If you are interested in any of these, let us know and we can give you more details.
Get your March membership at our website if you have not done so already. The next Makerspace board meeting is on March 5th at 6 pm. Anyone interested in helping plan the future of the Makerspace is welcome to attend.
